I'm pretty sure I'm going to get HATE mail over this since I'm the only woman I know with such disdain for this Holiday. (LOL) But, seriously ya'll, Valentine's Day is for SUCKAZZZ!!
& let's not get it twisted. I'm not a Hater. I'm not even a lil bit bitter or scorned. In fact, I am an avid advocate for LOVE, LOVERS, The LOVED, The LOVELESS, The LOVING...
I AM LOVE
however... I believe that
LOVE SHOULD BE CELEBRATED EVERYDAY
|If I was a PRETTY PRETTY princess, I'd dress like this ;-)|
REALITY CHECK: Prince Charming is rough around the edges; he’s got baggage, he’s insecure. He’s a mama’s boy with an absent daddy complex. He has a hard heart, a crooked smile and pain in his eyes. But if you’re not able to recognize the glory succeeding the pain, the riches beyond the suffering… you will miss your KINGdom. You have to be able to decipher the diamond in the rough from the lumps of pieces of coal… looking past the material, superficial things to get down to the nitty gritty of a man.
Society, general marketing schemes, upbringing, friends… they all feed you from the same plate of horse manure that tells you/ sells you the idea that on Valentine’s Day, your mate “should” take you out. He “should” bring you flowers. He “should” love you… even if every other day of the year, he’s a jerk & he cheats & he abuses you. But, as long as he professes his love on Valentine’s Day… as long as you don’t have to feel lonesome & you’re able to have a story to tell the next day, it’s ALL GOOD! & God forbid you not have a mate… you’re an outcast. You’re resulting to old loves (that clearly didn’t work out for a reason) and people you know you have no true interest in, to fulfill a temporary void (a false sense of loneliness that is externally imposed to play on ones emotions and affect the psyche).
I will straight flip the effff out if my man ever brings home $100 roses that cost $35 the day before. It’s a retailer’s paridise… women who want to be sold a dream and the men who want to screw them. LOL!… for ME- I prefer the little things… I appreciate a note on a random Tuesday, a night out on the town at the end of a hard week, Sunflowers in the middle of the winter, a pack of peanut m&m's, a gumball machince plastic ring... I don’t need roses on Valentine’s Day to prove that I am loved. I’m LOVED & I LOVE 24/7, 365 days of the every year. It's WHO I AM. I don’t aspire to be a part of the machine. I create my own reality.
HAPPY LOVE DAY
today & everyday
