BEHOLD... A QUEEN!!

PET PEEVE #569: Women in this modernized, western society who wear head wraps out of the house like they just rolled out of bed and don't care (UGHHH!! I cringe at the thought). Are ya'll serious? & the rollers too?!! LOL... It's no wonder why these young girls are out here turning pajamas into the hottest trend; I call them "Bohemian Bums".  SMH!

What happened to our QUEENDOM? (you're waiting on tall, dark & handsome looking like that? ;-) I know sometimes, we're running around, there's no time to get it together. You leave the salon & you want to keep the do in place for future reference... & YES- the head wrap is most definitely a suitable solution, but honestly ladies, if you're gonna do it...
DO IT RIGHT!!

HEAD WRAPS 101

Known as the head handkerchief, the turban, the head wrap; this type of head dress has been linked to style and status since the beginning of time. Originating from the ancient Nemes (striped cloth) the Egyptian pharaohs wore over their crowns, there have been variations to surface throughout many regions of the world. The first turbans were said to have been worn in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Southwest Asia. They were designed to help keep the body cool in the hot, dry climates. The largest turbans were worn by the most prestigious, powerful men, sometimes soldiers.

Badu may have made it cool... but it was our ancestors who made it HAUTE!

Evolving…
from a sign of African cultural aesthetics and royal stature, to a distinctive mark of enslavement; imposed by slave masters as a stereotype to symbolize the "Black Mammy" servant, to a helmet of courage, a connecting lifeline to our origins, and a rebellious statement to modernization ensuring our idiosyncratic connection to yesterday…

Today, Head Wraps symbolize FREEDOM of Speech, FREEDOM of Religion, FREEDOM of Expression, FREEDOM of Style

They influence fashion and transcend cultural barriers.
They symbolize strength, poise, confidence...
a head dress fit for a QUEEN!

ROCK IT & ROCK IT HARD
